San Francisco, January 2, 2008 -- Heavy equipment is used Wednesday to remove a piece of the Bay Bridge fendering system that washed ashore in December in Half Moon Bay. The fender detached after the Cosco Busan allided with the bridge in November. After inspection by the Coast Guard, the fender was pushed across the beach and then removed by ramp to be disassembled.
