Erie Basin-Nov. 26, 2007--A 600-foot boom is placed around the SEI 12, a 150-foot rental barge, and HSNE 150, an un-inspected scow barge, to contain approximately five gallons of hydraulic oil which leaked from the barge after The HNSE 150 allegedly broke free from its mooring and may have struck the SEI 12, outfitted with an excavator crane, was used to remove steel from the demolition of a non-commercial pier in the Erie Basin. Coast Guard investigators are working to assess the damage, determining the cause of the sinking, and assisting the responsible party with developing and implementing a salvage plan.
