Crew from the CGC Polar Sea boards a Kiribati-flagged vessel and assists in humanitarian operations. The boat was picking up patients from outlying islands in this small Pacific nation of coral atolls when it lost its propulsion and went adrift for several days. The Coast Guard crew airlifted a girl urgently needing medical help to a nearby hospital. The crew also restored the vessel's propulsion and replenished dangerously low water supplies.
