A unified supporting cast included; Sheikh Abdullah Sami Al Asi-Al Obeidi, a Kirkuk Sunni-Arab provincial council member and tribal leader, Maj. Gen. Jamal, Kirkuk provincial police chief, Col. David Paschal, commander, 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Kirkuk Gov. Abdul-Rahman Mostafa, Maj. Gen. Mark Hertling, commanding general, Multi-National Division - North and 1st Armored Division attended the commencement ceremony of the Southern Kirkuk Civil Service Corps which will employ and train 500 citizens in four districts, encompassing 20 villages within the southern districts, Taza, Yaaychi, Daquq, and Rashaad of the Kirkuk province. "These areas that once served as safe havens for terrorists have become viable opportunities for local development and employment due to the efforts of the Sons of Iraq, Iraqi security forces, and the coalition force bringing stability to the province--Kirkuk is now moving forward," Lt. Col. Dennis Sullivan, commander, 2nd Battalion, 22 Inf. Regt. told those attending the ceremony, August 11, 2008.
