CHARLESTON, S.C. - Capt. Scott Beeson, the U.S. Coast Guard Liaison to Project Seahawk, briefs Adm. Thad Allen, the commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, on the role of Project Seahawk. An interagency pilot program in Charleston, Project Seahawk unifies the efforts of numerous local, state and federal law enforcement entities towards. The goal of Project Seahawk is to avoid duplication of effort, engage in intelligence led proactive and inter-modal security operations, and partners on interagency operations and investigations. Members at Project Seahawk frequently join together to conduct investigations and vessel boardings, verify access control of facilities, monitor rail and truck traffic entering the port and make daily harbor patrols.
