It was standing room only for those attending the grand opening of the city of Hawijah's first Iraqi police station. Provincial and outer-city IP leadership, key city and government leaders with coalition force representatives showed up to show their support, "today is for all of the Iraqi security forces' martyrs who have sacrificed their lives so that we might enjoy successes such as this," Lt. Col. Christopher Vanek, commander, 1st Battalion, 87th Inf. Regt. told those in attendance.
