Australian hiker Debra Paver, left, is greeted by her family aboard the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy. Paver was evacuated by a U.S. Navy helicopter from Alola Village, Papua New Guinea to Mercy to be treated for hyponatremia, a condition resulting from low sodium levels in the blood, during a hike in the Owen Stanley Mountain Range. Mercy is anchored off the coast of Papua New Guinea supporting Pacific Partnership 2008 and has embarked a multinational group of medical and engineering professionals from military and non-governmental organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to several countries within the Pacific region.
