MANAMA, Bahrain (July 17, 2006) -- DC2 Edward Kaaua of Hawaii and assigned to Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFOR SWA) here stands by his post during the unit's change of command. Capt. Gary Smialek relieved Capt. Daniel McClellan as Commodore of the unit. About 250 Coast Guard members are assigned here in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom for a year-long tour.
