    ASTORIA, Ore. (Mar. 2, 2005)--Local rescue workers transport a simulated victim from a Coast Guard 47-foot motor lifeboat to a triage area in the East Mooring Basin in Astoria during a mass casualty exercise. The exercise simulated a collision between a freight vessels and a high capacity passenger vessel. The purpose of the drill was to test the contingency plans and se how well the Coast Guard, navy, members of industry and local emergency services could respond. The drill utilized several Coast Guard small boats, aircraft from the Coast Guard and Life-flight as well as multiple ambulance and emergency medical technicians. USCG photo by PAC Keith Alholm
