NEW YORK, NY (Feb. 04, 2004) --Seaman Apprentice Ryan N. Carufel, 19, of White Bear Lake Min, shovels snow off the the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Elm, homeported in Atlantic Beach NC, as they head south on the Hudson River for ice breaking operations .The Elm is breaking ice on the Hudson to allow ships to transit, including those carrying home heating oil, up the icy river.
