ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 22, 2003)--The crewmembers of Coast Guard Cutter Metompkin stand on the bow of the Cutter Wrangell, inport in the Arabian Gulf. The actual cutter Metompkin remains in its homeport of Key West, Fla., while the crew is playing a unique role as a relief detail. The crew will relieve each 110-foot patrol boat crew in theater for about a month each to give the full-time crews an opportunity to return to the United States for training and some time off before returning to complete their deployment.Front row kneeling is (l to r)
