Washington, D.C. (May 24) -- A radio direction finder aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter James Rankin (WLM-555). The finder uses radio frequencies to locate where a ship or cutter is on a navigation chart. The Rankin is 175 feet long with primary missions of aids to navigation, marine environmental protection, search and rescue and domestic icebreaking. USCG photo by PA1 Pete Milnes
