Members of the New York Army National Guard Joint Force Headquarters Color Guard wait at parade rest during a ceremony honoring former President Martin Van Buren Dec. 5, 2013, at the Dutch Reformed Cemetery here. The ceremony marked the 231st birthday of Van Buren. Shields presented a wreath from President Barack Obama at the grave of the eighth president.
