Jared Sloan, the aviation officer for the 1st Cavalry Division's 4th Brigade Combat Team, hooks a Humvee to a Chinook CH-47D cargo helicopter in a daring sling load operation at 12:32 a.m. at Contingency Operating Base Adder and Tallil Air Base July 24, 2008. Sloan and Sgt. 1st Class Carnell Brockington, a fires and effects coordination cell non-commissioned officer, attached a Humvee that is part of an air traffic control system to help stop criminals and smugglers near Amarah, Iraq, to a Chinook CH-47D cargo helicopter.
