Col. Robert Clements, head of Marine Corps promotions at Headquarters Marine Corps, walks alongside other Marines who participated in the third annual Bayou Classic Parade on Nov. 28, 2013. Clements and several other Marines made efforts to leave a positive impression on the community as they greeted and laughed with the locals. The Bayou Classic Parade highlighted numerous floats and marching bands including the Human Jukebox of Southern University, the Grambling State University World Famous Marching Tigers and the Marines Corps Band New Orleans. All of the Marines who attended the celebration are in New Orleans to take part in the Bayou Classic. For 39 years, the Bayou Classic has showcased the long-standing intrastate rivalry between the Southern University Jaguars and the Gambling State University Tigers for 39 years. The United States Marine Corps has been a partner of the Bayou Classic for 13 consecutive years in celebration of the hard work, courage and commitment to excellence exhibited by its many participants. Clements is from Cleveland. (Photo by Cpl. Octavia Davis)
