The last paratrooper in line gives the jumpmaster a hand slap signifying that all jumpers are good to go during a rehearsal at Fort Bragg, Nov. 8. The German airborne operation allows U.S. soldiers to earn German wings. German Sgt. Maj. Ronny Hahnlein of Coburg, Bavaria, Germany, serving as German liaison to XVIII Airborne Corps here. Hahnlein also serves as jumpmaster for the foreign wing jump for U.S. soldiers. For many soldiers this was jump number six to eight, with the first five jumps being at the U. S. Army Airborne School, Fort Benning, Ga. Soldiers rehearse the jump commands at the "mock door," an airframe sized training aid, prior to the airborne operation.
