The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48) sails the Philippine Sea. Ashland and USS Germantown (LSD 42) along with embarked Commander, Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 11, Naval Beach Unit 7 and elements of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit are in the Leyte Gulf in the Republic of the Philippines in support of Operation Damayan.
