Army Pfc. Luke Whittington, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 725th Brigade Support Battalion, awaits the release of clay pigeons as his unit spends a day at the Skeet/Trap Range on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Nov. 15, 2013. Expending hundreds of shotgun shells, soldiers took a break from the rigors of everyday military life by participating in the event as part of the unit’s cohesion and resiliency training. Between rounds of target shooting, soldiers conducted hip-pocket training on subjects such as team-building, suicide prevention, substance abuse and other topics to build self-confidence and self-awareness of ways to help their battle-buddy in tough situations.
