Capt. Tabitha Jones, USMCR, reveals the sign naming the Marine obstacle course in honor of her grandfather, Cpl. Sylvester Hood Sr., Nov. 8, 2013. Hood who was a Montford Point Marine - one of the first 20,000 black recruits to complete training at Camp Montford Point, N.C. The depot was racially segregated and closed in 1949.
