Spartans host 'Cowbone' for National Native American Heritage Month event for 3rd ID

Paul “Cowbone” Buster, a full-blood Seminole Native American, who is currently a Seminole language teacher for the Seminole Tribe of Florida education program, sings a traditional Seminole traveling song to Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division at the Club Stewart ballroom here, Nov., 13. Buster was here to speak to those in attendance about Native American Heritage. The event was held in recognition of National Native American Heritage Month, and was hosted by the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team. Cowbone is his Seminole name given to him by his father as a right of passage from boy to young man. The theme of the event was “Guiding Our Destiny With Heritage and Traditions”.
