A C-17 Globemaster III from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, comes into view between a parked C-17's engines at Royal New Zealand Air Force Base Ohakea, New Zealand, Nov. 11. The parked C-17, from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, has its F-117-PW-100 engines' thrust reversers deployed for ground operations during the second annual Exercise Kiwi Flag. The C-17 is carrying 26 Airmen who are deploying to the 517th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron to conduct flying operations using the heavy-airlift platform. The new arrivals are joining more than 40 Airmen who deployed from JBER Nov. 5. Kiwi Flag personnel are supporting Exercise Southern Katipo - held on New Zealand’s South Island - by managing air operations and providing cargo and passenger airlift including tactical air drops to SK participants.
