Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert marks the beginning of the Navy's birthday week with his annual Navy birthday remarks at the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel. Greenert's message this year focused on the Navy's legacy and how the Navy has been defending America with pride since 1775. Greenert reminded those in attendance to say a prayer for the sailors who are deployed, operating forward and continue to defend the nation.
