Marisol Wentling helps Staff Sgt. Jennifer Churchill, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, create an ice cream sundae during a Family Readiness Group Ice Cream Social, June 12. Marisol is part of the Veterans of Foreign War’s Junior Girls Auxiliary. Marisol, her father, Spc. Matthew Wentling, 3-82 General Support Aviation Battalion, her mother, Marissa, and her brother, Kaleb, were named the first runner up, 2013 Association of the United States Army Volunteer Family of the Year. “Time is precious and we recognize that it takes our volunteers to help take care of our families,” said Lt. Col. William Braman, 3-82 GSAB commander. “The Wentling family has gone out of their way to take care of this unit and their community in every way they could. We couldn’t be more proud of them.”
