Capt. Michael D. McClain of the San Diego Sheriff’s Department swears in the newly graduated police officers and deputy sheriffs at the Bob Hope Theater aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., Oct. 16. The 72 graduates get stationed around the San Diego region in police or sheriff’s departments.
Robert Laesch, a World War II Marine veteran, came out from Arizona to attend Melissa Salts’ graduation, where she became a deputy sheriff for the San Diego region. The San Diego Regional Law Enforcement Academy recognized him as an honored guest at the ceremony.
