Luke Barto, 451st Air Expeditionary Wing Safety Office Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard program, and Master Sgt. Dave Roller, 451st Air Expeditionary Wing Safety Office, utilize an inflatable boat to access weeds in a pond on Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, to reduce potential wildlife habitats, Sept. 24. Barto, a U.S. Department of Agriculture employee, worked with the KAF Fire Department to burn the weeds on pond and remove a habitat for birds. Reducing bird habitats around KAF will decrease the possibility of bird strikes for aircraft operating here. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Airman Jack Sanders)
