Lance Cpl. Oscar Kush, mortarman, Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, and a native of Chicago, takes a quick water break before resuming his training session during a Mixed Martial Arts class in Oceanside, Calif., Oct. 3, 2013. He said the training is rigorous and requires his body to be constantly hydrated. Kush transfers his skills as a Marine to MMA to better his fighting abilities. He has been training for 10 months and plans on making MMA a career.
