A 726th Air Control Squadron convoy moves across the Idaho desert, roughly 75 miles from Mountain Home Air Force Base, Oct. 4, 2013. The 726th ACS convoy served as a training "enemy" force for U.S. Navy AV8-B Harriers, German Air Force AG-51 Tornadoes and for a team of U.S. Marine 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company joint terminal attack controllers, providing mutual beneficial training for all parties. "As a SALT, we are excited to be working hand-in-hand with our German counterparts during the exercise, meet our goals of increasing individual and team proficiencies in regards to CAS and also to develop our unit as fire-support coordination experts," said Marine Capt. Charles Watt, 1st ANGLICO Supporting Arms Liaison Team (or, SALT) officer-in-charge. "In short, we enable foreign militaries to capitalize on fire support provided by the U.S. military by embedding fire support experts within their ranks."
