Marines conduct mass supply load training, strengthen expeditionary capabilities

Marines stand at the back of a KC-130J Hercules and observe a drop zone on Basa Air Base, Pampanga, Republic of the Philippines, during mass supply load training Oct. 2 as part of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. During the training, Marines delivered supplies and equipment by parachute from a KC-130J Hercules aircraft, demonstrating expeditionary capabilities that could be used during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions. PHIBLEX 14 is a bilateral training exercise designed to improve interoperability and enhance the ability for a bilateral force to respond to natural disasters or other regional contingencies. The Marines are with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, which is currently part of the aviation combat element for 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
