Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), headquartered in Orlando, Fla., participated in a mass casualty exercise here, Sept. 24. During the exercise, several 143d soldiers performed roles as casualties resulting from a mock attack. Soldiers from the New York National Guards’ 222nd Military Police Company treated casualties and reacted to potential threats at one of the base entry control points during the exercise. Similar exercises are conducted randomly throughout the year to ensure units are prepared for any event. The exercise is designed to test every first responder on base, such as firefighters, emergency medical technicians, medics, quick response forces, explosive ordinance teams and military police.
