Philippine Navy 1st Lt. Francis-John O. Moraga discusses basic nutritional facts during a subject matter exchange seminar Sept. 25 during a cooperative health engagement at Bigaa Elementary School, Legazpi City, Albay, Republic of the Philippines part of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. Medical personnel from the Provincial Health Office and the Philippine and U.S. Navies shared their medical knowledge prior to seeing patients. The cooperative health engagement is a three-day exercise where medical personnel provided treatment for ailments from upset stomachs to tooth extractions. Bilateral Philippines-U.S. Marine Corps activities sustain and reinforce the foundation and framework for a bilateral force to respond rapidly and effectively to regional humanitarian crises. The PHO is a part of Barangay Bigaa, Moraga is a nurse commander at Naval Forces Southern Luzon, and the U.S. Navy doctors are with Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
