U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Rich Tiu, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 173rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), launches a RQ-11B Raven unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Sept. 26, 2013, at the Oberdachstetten Local Training Area. This UAV launch was part of the operator re-certification training being conducted by the U.S. Army Europe Aviation Safety and Standardization Detachment (UASSD) based in Illesheim , Germany. Once certified by the UASSD, these operators will return to their units and train other operators how to fly UAVs.
