Daniel Canepa, right, a Department of the Army civilian employee assigned to the Training Support Center Ansbach teaches the proper use of the Improvised Explosive Device Effects Simulator (IEDES) training system to U.S. Soldiers assigned to Echo Company, 3rd Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, at the Oberdachstetten Range Complex in Bavaria, Germany, Sept. 23, 2013. The purpose of the IEDES system is to provide visual and audio signature effects that realistically replicate combat situations.
