Command Sgt. Maj. Theodore Trahan of the 525th Military Police Battalion, part of Joint Task Force Guantanamo, is presented a folded American flag during his retirement ceremony here where he also received the Legion of Merit award, July 3, 2008. The 525th MP Battalion provides much of the guard force inside the JTF's detention facilities. JTF Guantanamo conducts safe and humane care and custody of detained enemy combatants. The JTF conducts interrogation operations to collect strategic intelligence in support of the Global War on Terror and supports law enforcement and war crimes investigations. JTF Guantanamo is committed to the safety and security of American service members and civilians working inside its detention facilities.
