Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Kyle Cowell directs an MH-60S Sea Hawk assigned to the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 8 as it transports ordnance crates from the Military Sealift Command dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Alan B. Shepard (T-AKE 3) to the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis is receiving ammunition to prepare for a deployment in early 2009. Stennis is transiting from San Diego to her homeport of Bremerton, Wash. following a rigorous two-month work-up period.
