A U.S. Navy rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB) assigned to the guided missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) returns to the ship after an air operations for maritime surface warfare exercise with U.S. Air Forces Central Command July 17, 2013, in the Persian Gulf. Two RHIBs assigned to the Monterey simulated a small boat attack before an Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft simulated the detection and elimination of the threat. The Monterey was deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
