U.S. sailors man the rails aboard the battleship USS Iowa (BB-4) in an undated file photo off the coast of Washington. The Naval History and Heritage Command's Underwater Archeology Branch recently discovered deck logs from the Iowa showing that their recently acquired Howell Torpedo Number 24 was fired and lost during training in December 1899 off the coast of San Diego. The torpedo was discovered in March by U.S. Navy dolphins off the coast of San Diego. (U.S. Navy file photo/Released)
