The Coast Guard Cutter Tern, an 87-foot patrol boat home-ported in San Francisco, patrols the perimeter of the race area for the Louis Vuitton Cup finals in San Francisco Bay as Emirates Team New Zealand sails past them Aug. 24. The Coast Guard maintains its normal daily operations while helping to ensure that everyone who comes to watch the 34th America’s Cup races on the water has a safe time.
