Talan Carter, Ashland, Ky. native, son of a 2nd "Stallion" Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st "Ironhorse" Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division Soldier, conducts sit-ups during the Stallion’s Kids Spur Ride at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area in Belton, Texas, Aug. 22. This was Talan’s first of event during the spur ride. The spur ride gave kids an opportunity to participate in some training events that their parents go through, like a ruck marching and the obstacle course. (U.S. Army photo by Spc.
