Cope North 2017 (CN17) is an annual PACAF tri-lateral Field Training Exercise (FTX) with participants from the U.S. Air Force (USAF), U.S. Navy (USN), U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF), and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) conducted primarily at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Participating air forces will conduct a tri-lateral FTX to improve combat readiness, develop synergistic humanitarian assistance and/or disaster relief operations, and increase interoperability between the U.S., RAAF, and JASDF, concentrating on coordination of air Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs). The exercise features a full spectrum of fighter, bomber, airlift, tanker, rescue and command and control aircraft.
U.S. Navy sailors with Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 135 performed maintenance on E/A-18G Growlers at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, to support exercise Cope North, which is scheduled for Feb. 8 – March 8, 2017.
