316th ESC 2015 Best Warrior Competition
316th ESC2015 Best Warrior CompetitionThey came from near and far as Soldiers and noncommissioned officers from throughout the U.S. Army Reserve’s 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) competed in the Best Warrior Competition held here March 20, 21 and 22, 2015. Three Soldiers and two NCOs came from as close as Pittsburgh, Pa., and as far away as Liberia and Uzbekistan.

From player to coach, his love for the game remains the sameIt’s no wonder that Uros Davidovic was selected as the head coach of the Army sitting volleyball team; his sentiment on winning volleyball games mirrors that of leaders of the Army Warrior Transition Command, whose mission is to provide care and transition support for wounded, ill and injured Soldiers and to promote success in their Army or civilian lives.

Team USA volleyballer comes to help, leaves inspiredIt’s not every day that you’ll hear a professional athlete say that an amateur in the sport has helped her, but in the case of Nicky Nieves, a power hitter on the national USA Sitting Volleyball team, the athletes competing at the 2015 Army Trials at Fort Bliss, Texas, have become an inspiration to her, and a reminder as to why she loves the game.

With a drive to win, you try harderRetired Staff Sgt. Alexander Shaw hopes to make his mark in and outside of the athletic arena. From Clarkesville, Tennessee, he is currently attempting to make the Department of Defense Warrior Games 2015 Army Team. He also is helping to teach wheelchair basketball and other adaptive sports.
