Chuck Norris' martial arts instructor still training 50 years laterAt 80 years old, Grand Master Mun has spent over half his life training service members at Osan Air Base in the art of self-defense. He has certified more than 4,500 black belt students in the time-worn aerobics room of the base's fitness center. Many of those students have continued on to train others in the ancient art of Tae Kwon Do, but only one has continued on to inspire others around the globe.

Construction to begin on North Dakota Guard Maintenance Facility in Valley CityThe Valley City-based 231st Brigade Support Battalion (231st BSB) now will have a new home to provide maintenance support for its inventory of combat and tactical vehicles. North Dakota National Guard leaders along with elected officials today broke ground for a new vehicle maintenance shop and unheated enclosed vehicle storage facility to support unit maintenance operations and training. The $12 million project is expected to be complete by July 2017.


Fort Hood makes changes to access requirements
Effective immediately, in accordance with Department of Defense directives, Fort Hood and the Directorate of Emergency Services will no longer conduct vehicle registration operations at the Fort Hood Visitor Welcome Center.


Hundreds from I Corps join combined forces at Talisman Sabre
Several hundred I Corps Soldiers recently headed to Australia where they’re slated to join 33,000-strong contingent of Australian forces and other government and nongovernment agencies participating in the sixth iteration of the biennial exercise Talisman Sabre, July 4 through 19.
