Operation Letzlingen Shock begins in Germany
Operation Letzlingen Shock begins in GermanyOperation Freedom Shock, which is scheduled to run through April 28, includes troops from 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Armor Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, and the German 2nd Mechanized Battalion in order to increase training interoperability readiness between German and U.S. armored forces.

Eliminate sexual assault: Know your part. Do your part.SAAPM is recognized in April by both civilian and military communities. The Department of Defense observes SAAPM by focusing on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault and requiring a personal commitment from all Service members at every level. We all have a part in combating sexual assault and SAAPM offers an excellent opportunity to focus attention on our individual roles. One way the 3rd ID decided to get Soldiers to embrace this year’s SAAPM theme is to offer a week long Sexual Harassment and Response Prevention Self Defense Course.

95-year-old Tuskegee Air(wo)man awarded Congressional Gold Medal“I do want to say, I’m a proud lady today.” While Sgt. Amelia Jones was proud, all in attendance for her ceremony on April 19 were there to express a Nation’s pride, and to recognize Jones and her service to her country. Jones, a 95-year-old veteran of the famous Tuskegee Airmen, said the above quote to a large audience after being presented the Congressional Gold Medal by U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga, along with Brig. Gen. James Blackburn and Command Sgt. Maj. Stanley Varner, command team for Task Force Marne, 3rd Infantry Division.

CBRNE training keeps Soldiers ready to fight tonightA Soldier gently pulls a drawer open with a hook. The Soldier, fully adorned in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical protective gear, checks every item in the room, calling out “Marco,” so Soldiers outside could respond with “Polo,” ensuring the individual inside is still safe and conscious. After the whole room is checked for explosive devices, a second Soldier enters, documents and samples equipment for evidence of chemical and biological agents.
