    Technically Speaking Representation Matters (Ep.6)

Technically speaking NIWC Atlantic is paying tribute to Black History Month with a special episode focusing on diversity, inclusion, and representation within the command!

We begin with Chelsie introducing us to some experts in the NAVWAR initiative to create more Educational Partnership Agreements (EPA) with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). Shawn Frazier and Gerrold Walker both have a role to play in the initiative. Shawn is a NIWC Atlantic IT Specialist and the STEM HBCU lead.  Gerrold is a NIWC Atlantic Scientist, and the Mid-Atlantic tech bridge liaison for EPA’s.

Then Alex speaks with Clair Commodore-Wheeler, a NIWC Atlantic competency manager, on her recent win of the first ever Federal Agency Leadership Award at the Black Engineer of the Year awards conference.

Keep listening to hear a creative poem written and recited by Amanda Patterson-Womble, a NIWC Atlantic Engineer, titled “Teal Hairbrush”.

Lastly, Alex and Chelsie switch things up with a “technical tid-bit"" that is a very interesting historical fact!
