Volunteers from several community businesses and organizations, and members of the Alaska National Guard, delivered tidings of good cheer to the communities of Newtok and Shishmaref this December. They provided nearly 500 children—infants to highschoolers—with wrapped presents from Santa Claus, books, school supplies, backpacks, fruit and ice cream. The delivery is the culmination of planning and coordination for Operation Santa Claus, an annual event in its 58th year. Santa and Mrs. Claus go to selected villages each year. Run Time 4:11.
