U.S. Marines and Soldiers learn survival skills with People’s Liberation Army Soldiers and Australian Defence Force Soldiers in the Australian Outback, Oct. 7-24, during training event KOWARI. KOWARI is a trilateral training opportunity hosted by the Australian Army and is the first environmental survival training among forces from Australia, China and the United States. U.S. armed forces, the Australian Army and the PLA have in common professional, robust armies who are well-suited to communicate and relate effectively with each other. Kowari provides service members an opportunity to promote trust, mutual respect and cooperation between our countries.
