Gunnery Sgt. Pedro Aquino, a native of Hawthorne, California, gives a shout out from the 2014 Warrior Games to Mrs. Renee Swetlik and the students of Holman Elementary School Peru, Indiana. Aquino is competing in shooting and archery for the Marine team at the Warrior Games. The Marine team has been training since September 15 in order to build team cohesion and acclimate to the above 6,000 ft. altitude of Colorado Springs. The Marine team is comprised of active duty and veteran wounded, ill and injured Marines who are attached to or supported by the Wounded Warrior Regiment, the official unit of the Marine Corps charged with providing comprehensive non-medical recovery care to wounded, ill and injured Marines. The Warrior Games are a Paralympic-style competition for more than 200 wounded, ill and injured service members and are taking place September 28 to October 5 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
