The canopy closes on an F-15E Strike Eagle during Red Flag 14-3 Jul. 23, 2014 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. It was during the Vietnam War Americans realized the need for combat training scenarios. Prior to Vietnam, during the Korean War, the Air Force had an aerial kill ratio of 10 to one in its favor.
