When NATO’s rapidly deployable forces are called to action, the first torch party includes Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Teams. Their job is to liaise with locals to assess the logistical requirements and secure the necessary support before any troops and equipment can be deployed.
This report follows the progress of a small multinational Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Team as they participate in an exercise by the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. The training takes place in Italy and aims to ensure this high-readiness multinational force has all the skills and capabilities necessary to be able to deploy anywhere in the world at short notice.
