The Iowa Army National Guard held its annual Best Warrior Competition March 22-24 at Camp Dodge, Johnston, Iowa. The three-day competition included a 12-mile rucksack march, pistol and rifle marksmanship, the Army Physical Fitness Test, land navigation, and several other physically and mentally challenging events. Twenty-three Soldiers from across the state participated, with the Private First Class Kyle Hanson of Iowa City, Iowa selected as Soldier of the Year and Sergeant Jacob Guck from Libertyville, Iowa coming in first place for Non- Commissioned Officer of the Year.
