SEARCHLIGHT, Nev. -- Coast Guard Long Range Navigation Station Searchlight, Nev. ceases transmission of the LORAN-C signal Feb. 8, 2010 as part of the 2010 Department of Homeland Security Appropriation Act. LORSTA Searchlight is one of 24 LORAN stations that are no longer relied upon by the armed forces nor the transportation sector for navigation purposes.
